We had about 15 minutes of degraded performance on our WAF/CDN cluster xxx7 during the evening of October 29th.
The problem was caused by a layer 7 DDoS attack using specially crafted headers that our automated mitigation did not handle fast enough. Our engineering team manually intervened promptly and mitigated the attack, but some of our data centers had a period of degraded performance and high response time.
We apologize for the the inconvenience and have implemented additional protection to prevent this from happening again.
